About the Author
Brian Kettell has a wealth of practical experience in the area of Islamic banking and finance. He worked for several years as an Advisor for the Central Bank of Bahrain where he had numerous Islamic banking responsibilities.
Subsequently, Brian taught courses on Islamic banking and finance at a range of financial institutions including the World Bank, National Commercial Bank (Saudi Arabia), Global Investment House (Kuwait), Noor Islamic Bank (UAE), the UK Treasury, the Central Bank of Iran, the Central Bank of Syria, the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, the Institute for Financial Services and Scotland Yard.
Brian's vast academic expertise in Islamic finance is highlighted by his role as former Joint Editor of the Islamic Finance Qualification Handbook and his past teaching work at a number of top universities worldwide including the London School of Economics, the City University of Hong Kong, the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait and London Metropolitan University Business School.
Brian's impressive list of publications include over 100 articles in journals, business magazines and the financial press including Islamic Business and Finance, Islamic Banking and Finance, the Central Banking Journal, Euromoney, the Securities Journal and the International Currency Review. He has also published 6 books on Islamic banking and financial markets.

Don't waste your money

I recently completed a Post Graduate Program in Islamic Finance and Banking. It was brutal in the amount of extra/outside study I had to do. I purchased Brain Kettell's books on Islamic Finance. Not only were they not helpful but were at such a high level, overview, as to be totally worthless for the study of Islamic Finance. I genuinely feel I was "ripped off" by these overpriced books. And it is ironic that the Dummies Book on Islamic Finance by an Islamic Finance Scholar was FAR superior.

He is a Past Chairman of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee and has raised funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Clifford F. Lynch, Principal of C. F. Lynch & Associates, has advised logistics services since 1993. Previously, Cliff was VP - Logistics of Quaker Oats and President of Trammell Crow Distribution. He earned his BS (University of Tennessee) and MBA (University of Chicago). A Past President of CSCMP, he has written several books and is on review boards of three periodicals. He is a Director and Past Chairman of the Mid-South Food Bank.

Ken and Cliff also published The Role of Freight Bill Payment and Transportation Management Information in the Supply Chain Industry. Together, they have over 75 years of experience.

Very helpful book! I've been using Polis Method since 2014 and now, after 1,5 years, I'm able to read some original texts as if they were just a regular living language. =)

Tremendous book and program!

This is probably one of the absolute best methods of studying Koine Greek out there. It includes vocabulary from multiple Koine sources, not just the New Testament, and presents the language to you in a format that reproduces how you learn a living language.

Two things to be aware of: 1) The vocab is not given to you in English. This is part of what makes the course good, actually, but you will have to carefully watch the youtube videos that are associated with the material to pick up what the lesson vocab is, if you are studying on your own.
2) If you are trying to learn with a more authentic modern/Byzantine pronunciation (that is actually much closer to what Koine Greek of the early Church sounded), the youtube videos will be somewhat misleading, since the author uses the artificial Erasthmian pronunciation.

Also, do buy the teacher's volume that goes with it!
