Anyone even minimally interested in Latin America (students, policy-makers, tourists, etc.) should read all or parts of this compendium. By the way, I believe the author's name is Richard S. Nicely done

I read his tonight and I liked how the story contained two stories, Anna and Lexi where really good characters. Now Jennifer was something to be desired. I understand why Andy pleaded guilty but what about the other two murders that part was left opened nothing mentioned on who did them. Maybe the author will do another cause I don't like it when the murder gets away with murder like did Andy's partner follow the trail of the snow globe and did the teenager get released and where the other two murders solved. So please write another.

Good first effort.

I found it difficult to rate this book. This author has a nice writing style, but the plot I found was a problem. It started off well with good characterisations, but have way through, the book deviated into two separate stories which didn't seem to mesh together. On one hand we had a conventional romance, and then on the other, a serial murder mystery. The story flipped from one the other, which was confusing. In the end neither was satisfactory.

I absolutely LOVED IT, this story turned out to be quite fascinating in its telling. The characters of Lexy and Anna are a good match for one another and little Cayden is a great addition to the mix. Jennifer is quite the character on her own and Cole well, the woman has issues., but who doesn't right. I highly recommend this book to the Who dunnit fans out there who enjoy a good mystery. I will say this the ending put a broad grin on my face and I'm hoping there will be more to come.

Giorgi's approach is admittedly one of many. However, considering his prolific output over the years and his excellent and rigorous scholarship, I must say that this book represents the very best in the field. In fact, it is no accident that his method (which emerged over the course of a several years from the Duquesne school of phenomenological psychology) has become the standard in psychology and related social/human science disciplines. If you want the very latest and up-to-date version of his work, you would do well to read this book. It took me some time to warm-up to Giorgi's approach as I wanted something that seemed more interpretive and hermeneutic for my dissertation research. Yet, I kept coming back to his approach because it is simply solid and very grounded in the tradition. As I deepened my understanding of Husserl, in particular, I came to truly appreciate the robust nature of Giorgi's work. This is for serious scholar-researchers. I highly recommend it.

Giorgi presents an easy-to-understand, comprehensive description of his phenomenological approach, which I am using for my Master's level research. As a graduate student, I have read a number of generalized qualitative research books, but none of these outlined a method extensively enough for me to feel comfortable actually doing research. These books (e.g. Creswell's "Five Traditions") sparked my interest in phenomenology as a research design. After deciding on the phenomenological method, I chose this book fairly randomly based on the Amazon.com reviews. I found that "The Descriptive Phenomenological Method in Psychology" was clear, a trait I did not find in articles and websites by other authors describing the phenomenological method. At the end of the book, I feel I have a grasp on what phenomenology is, but more practically, how to logically study phenomena in the field of education.

I am a Cabot initiate from about 20 years ago. This book is a valuable resource of Laurie's lifetime of teaching. Unlike other more secretive traditions, the Cabot Book of Shadows is open and available to all who seek the wisdom of the Craft. Laurie's straightforward writing style makes the information highly accessible. There is no other volume on witchcraft of which I am aware that is this comprehensive.

Unlike many traditions, Laurie's take on witchcraft is based in science. You will learn about Alpha brain waves and how you can readily access your relaxed, subconscious mind, visualizing and projecting your thoughts, leading to their ultimate realization. She teaches you protection, and how to avoid mental traps that lead to backfiring of projections. The art and religion of witchcraft build upon this foundation.

Worthwhile theory and practice for all witches

Very interesting and informative take on witchcraft as a science- and as a literal craft. Gives you pretty much the whole course, including reading list, for initiation into the Cabot tradition. As a solitary, the rituals were essentially a no-go for me, but coveners will probably like the unique take on Wiccan ritual, via an Arthurian bent. The section on being a member of the magical clergy is also refreshing and something I haven't seen very often. The exercises and meditations were instructive and personably related, and I enjoyed the first section's workbook feel. I would recommend this for anyone, beginner or more experienced.

This is such a great book. It is like Laurie is sitting there talking to you, or taking you around town and sharing bits of her knowledge with you. She is definitely one of a kind. I love the way the book is written. It is straightforward, no nonsense. I am so glad she decided to share at least some of what she knows with whomever wishes to know it. Good scope; figures and index fall short

For a cross-disciplinary mathematical biologist who is to be an end-user of cardiac models, this book gave a quick introduction to electrocardiograms, electromechanics, and pertinent computing algorithms. It provides worked examples which should be useful in conjunction with a dedicated course book e.g. on partial differential equations. Regrettably, many terms and abbreviations used in the text are absent in the index, detracting from the book's value as a quick reference. The illustrations could be much better, considering the multidimensional, multivariate nature of the system. Instead, they suffer from unlabeled axes, nonuniform color maps in multi-panel figures, or wasteful use of color plates where different linestyles would suffice. All in all, not a feast for the eye but a reasonably concise, fairly well-structured primer on a specific sub-area of a huge research field.

A wake-up call for governing boards

Anyone serving on, or working with, a governing board should read this cautionary tale and commit its message to memory. Dr. Mott's book provides a clear picture of what NOT to do as a board member.

In his John Grisham-esque style, Dr. Mott takes the reader through the trials of a very qualified and determined CEO as he struggles to lead his institution, dragging a dysfunctional board along with him. The Board Game lays out what can happen when a board member has an exalted view of his own importance, as well as the damage done if a well-intentioned member fails to stand up to a board bully.
